Last night, two persons were killed, including one in police firing, after a 'tazia' procession taken out on the occasion of Muharram turned violent at Panigate following an altercation between members of the two communities over its installation at a ''disputed'' place.
Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements had been made in view of the decision taken by local residents' to take out processions with the bodies of the two victims through the main thoroughfares of the city for their last rites.
Police sources said a combing operation would start against the culprits involved in the violence after registering the FIRs.
